The book’s format is as follows: First, I provide an original piece of advice (e.g. “Don’t let your anger control you.”) Then I give a quotation from William Shakespeare that illustrates the advice (“Anger’s my meat; I sup upon myself, / And so shall starve with feeding.” Coriolanus, Act 4, Scene 2). Next there is a brief “translation” of the quote (“In Other Words: Those who feed on anger famish their own souls.”) Finally, I write a short “gloss” on the advice. I conclude each section with a final quotation by another wise person (Dante, Erasmus, Plato, etc.) that helps clarify and illustrate both the tip, the Shakespeare quote, and the short passage. (“Anger dwells only in the bosom of fools.”Albert Einstein)
I hope you enjoy reading the book as much as I did writing it. Thank you!
