Check out my new Young Poets Workshop videos

At the request of various teachers, especially Christine Cooper Angeli at St. Jeanne de Lestonnac School and Carol Hernandez at the Murrieta Valley Unified School District, I’ve spent the last month or so creating an online YOUNG POETS WORKSHOP series on how to read, analyze, and write poetry. The short videos are designed for kids ages 10 to 18 years old, but I think anyone would enjoy them. If you’ve ever wanted to appreciate and understand poetry–or simply to get over your metrophobia (yes, that’s “fear of poetry”)–check them out. The final class (#6) will be released next Tuesday. Below is a link to the first video of the series. They are all available on my YouTube channel.

New Videos on My You Tube Channel

Over the quarantine, I finally began adding videos to my long-moribund You Tube channel. Most of them are recitals of famous poems that I did as part of a Facebook series I called “30 Poems of Hope and Joy in 30 Days.” Others include a few Shakespeare monologues I’ve done. I also developed a poetry workshop for children that you’re welcome to utilize for your own students or yourself. In future posts, I will provide links to a few of these specific videos. Enjoy!
